Frustration

Frustration

Frustration or disappointment. Are you ever frustrated with your physical body?  Do you sometimes wish you could trade in your body for a new one?

When referencing our bodies, an ancient writer, named Paul compared our earthly body to a tent.  What are the characteristics of a tent?

It is designed for temporary occupation.

Few people live permanently in tents.  But if they do, their tent is moved from one place to another.  A tent is designed as a temporary dwelling.  So too, our bodies are designed for temporary occupation.

Do not fret if you occasionally desire a physical body trade-in.  That desire is God’s intentional provision – designed to inspire you to seek a better home.

“For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling…” 2 Corinthians 5:2

Groaning can be a good thing.  Dissatisfaction with our present circumstances can inspire us turn our attention from the temporal things of this world and focus our desires and actions upon “our heavenly dwelling”.
